We were guests at the Open Special Friends Cup in Leopoldsburg, Belgium, an event that once again perfectly demonstrated how para-sports and friendship reinforce each other. We had another unforgettable day full of sporting commitment, solidarity, and genuine emotions.
From the very first moment, the atmosphere was heartwarming. It was wonderful to see how all the G-athletes shone on the tatami, each in their own way and within their own capabilities. With enormous courage, perseverance, and enthusiasm, they all showed what true sportsmanship means. The smiles, pride, and joy were priceless and confirm once again why initiatives like this are so important.
It was also particularly nice to meet some old acquaintances again. Such encounters always feel like coming home and make us look forward to a future in which we will undoubtedly write many more beautiful stories together. Because, as we strongly believe: “Together we are better.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the organization, which, as always, took care of every detail. The warm welcome, smooth planning, and sincere attention to each participant made this day extra special. Our gratitude goes out in particular to Sensei Pascal and his fantastic team at G-karateclub Leopoldsburg, who made this event possible with so much dedication and passion.
Sensei Paul KJ Penasse, who is always there with his big heart and support, also deserves a special mention.
With the Para-Budo Federation, we remain true to our mission: to create an environment without stress or pressure, in which each of our para-heroes feels safe, appreciated, and supported. We do it for them. A happy face is worth so much more than any medal, and we are fully committed to ensuring that everyone goes home with a good feeling and fond memories.
This Open Special Friend Cup was another wonderful example of that. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this – together we make a difference.
